tennis racket kids 23

Getting my kids started in tennis....HELP! 10 pts?
I have an 11, 7 and 6 year old I want to start playing tennis. They got interested after goofing off with extra rackets while their dad and I played just for fun and exercise. I sized them and know that the younger ones ned 23" and my oldest needs a 25" racket. Now that they have basic equipment where do I start. I can't afford lessons. I have these 3 plus a baby girl and my hubby and I both are in college at this time. So what are some good kid drills I can run with them? Some basic teaching tools. Nothing super competitive and grueling. But some building blocks to start with. They love sports. They are in baseball now and also have a golf set they will be using as it gets a bit cooler. But they show a desire for tennis too. We both played tennis in high school but it has been years.
I will give ten points as best answer for real good info with clear instructions or links. But keep in mind the tight budget!
There are many options that dont require a lot of money like taking lessons to get good. i learned how to play with what i have (i think the most ive spent in 4 years for tennis is 50 bucks or lower). I havent had any lessons at all, and i cant believe ive gotten so far just from practicing everyday (2nd varsity:) high school). ANyways, the best way to start teaching your children is to make them practice getting the ball over the net by forehands and backhands. then as they get better at it start teaching serves, and keep in mind that they should always be on their toes and moving their feet. After they get the general idea of how to hit the ball over the net, then you should worry about form and hand-eye coordination.
The best way for teaching your children thats close to lessons is making them observe others play tennis. Videos are the best at teaching- its all in sports psychology that if you watch motion etc. its easier learned and 5+ times more effective. you can find these for free online at tennis.com or youtube.
One last thing: you have to teach your children about being mentally strong; being mentally strong is the key to tennis. no matter how big and strong anyone can be, doesnt mean they can dominate in tennis.
i hope this helped, but if u have more questions, you can IM me (i know ur thing doesnt want me to but dont worry im not crazy; im jus 16
