This racket is a great all-around racket. It’s very durable and the ball comes off very consistently, regardless of where on the racket you hit it. It’s got enough power for solid drives and smashes, enough spin for decent chops, and it’s a decent defender.
I’ve played a large number of Butterfly rackets (Seemiller, Chiu, Kenji) and this is still one of my favorites. It’s VERY similar to the Seemiller (another favorite, obviously) but it’s got a bit more power and in my head, it seems like it’s got a touch more spin. If you play more of a defensive game, go with the Seemiller. If you’re strictly offense, get the much higher-powered and higher-spin Carlos Chiu. I love this one for its all-around, slightly offensive prowess.
And heck, even though mine’s over two years old, I can still be competitive with it when I break my newer, more expensive rackets.

I’ve owned this paddle for a number of years and love it. It has great balance, spin and speed with plenty of control. I highly recommend this paddle for an intermediate player who tends to be on the offensive side but is good for all around players as well.

I like this because the ball has a very nice controlled feel coming off the paddle and this is probably a good one for an experienced beginner. You can generate a good amount of spin and my only complaint is really about the springiness of the core which occasionally makes the ball go long. Now as for the handle I really dislike the AN grip i think straight or flaired are much more comfortable.
If you are a beginner looking seriously into table tennis get a blade and attach rubbers and forget this premade stuff.

I’ve used 2 other butterfly rackets (Yuki-FL and Brian Pace). The Shikata is, in my opinion, better than both. It is lighter than the Yuki and has a much better ‘crisp’ feel when hitting the ball than the brian pace, which feels and sounds ‘hollow’. The anatomic handle is very comfortable, although there is not much difference when compared to the flared handle. Overall an amazing racket.

I really enjoy useing this paddle. It has an excellent spin controll in it. It’s very easy to clean. The only problem I have it getting used to the speed it has when defending a shot, it’s kind of hard to keep in on the table. But it’s a very good paddle.
